This is a Stream 2 module and is designed for doctors that have successfully completed the Stream 1 module and hold this accreditation.

Module information

This module covers the evaluation criteria from Chapter 7 of the Guides (the Hematopoietic System) but also covers and additional set prescribed Guidelines for assessing Occupational Infectious Diseases.

The module includes:

  • The methodology to in Chapter 7 to disorders or red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, coagulation proteins and the immune defence system.
  • Detailed discussion of approach to assessing impairment from splenectomy.
  • Detailed discussion the approach to be taken to assess impairment associated with permanent need for use of blood thinners.

The Online training mode consists of:

Access to interactive content: It provides information of the role of the permanent impairment assessor, methods of assessment & definitions. A number of case studies will be provided for the participant self-study.

Supported learning: Facilitators can be contacted through the Learning Management System in regards content of the module, the role of the permanent impairment assessor, methods of assessment & definitions. Assessment Task:  No assessment task is required.
